Meet Sara Cunningham
Sara is the founder of Free Mom Hugs and the reason our organization exists today. Through her own personal journey of becoming accepting of her gay son, she has inspired a movement across the United States and around the world.
Since 2018, our organization has grown from a few moms in Oklahoma City to thousands of volunteers making a difference locally through our chapters program around the country. We are a group of affirming parents, friends and allies who love the LGBTQIA+ community and advocate on their behalf. We collaborate with corporations, churches, high schools, universities and other entities to share our stories. We seek to inspire the world to not only affirm the LGBTQIA+ community, but to celebrate them. We hope to change the world one hug at a time.
